This workshop will consist of two sessions. The second session will take place on Tuesday, October 27, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The workshop fee includes both sessions.
If you don’t like to write, this workshop is for you. If you are lazy, this workshop is for you. If you experience writer’s block regularly, this workshop is for you. If inspiration visits far too infrequently, this workshop is for you. If you think you could never write a play, this workshop is for you. In this workshop, we will do a series of exercises that will get you motivated, un-blocked, un-stuck, and inspired—exercises that will free you from your mind and help you connect to the “play” part of the word “playwright.” It won’t teach you how to write a play. But it will give you exercises that will get you started. And getting started is half the battle. Or more like 90% of the battle.
John Cariani is an award-winning stage, film and television actor who grew up in Presque Isle, Cariani is the author of four popular plays. His debut play, “Almost Maine,” is one of the most frequently produced plays in the country.
